Angelina and Billy Bob 'not friends'

US actress Angelina Jolie said there is nothing left of the intense love she once shared with her ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton.

“We are not friends, no,” the 28-year-old Tomb Raider star said. “It was like we just changed, we became very different people, and I wouldn’t know what to talk to him about.”

Jolie and actor-filmmaker Thornton, 47, married in 2000 and were instant media fodder. They bragged in interviews about their sex lives and wore vials containing each other’s blood.

“When you are friends, and when you love somebody you tend to be as outspoken as possible, to make them feel good. You tell the world that they are wonderful, and you love them, and how great they are.”

She meant it at the time, she said. “Now I just feel like I don’t know him.”

The pair were divorced last May. Their marriage started to unravel before Jolie adopted a child from Cambodia.

“By the time Maddox came home, we were kind of living apart,” she said.

She said she misses dating but that nobody has caught her eye yet.

She now has her doubts about marriage, she said. Her marriage to Thornton was her second. She had been married previously to actor Jonny Lee Miller.

“I think I will never get married again. I don’t really know if I’m meant for marriage,” said Jolie.

Both Jolie and Thornton are Oscar winners. She won a best-supporting actress award in 2000 for Girl, Interrupted, and Thornton won best screenplay honours in 1997 for Sling Blade.

Jolie stars in this summer’s Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life.
