'Piglet's Big Movie' is charming

You could be forgiven for expecting this animated feature from Disney to be toe-curlinging, finger-down-throat twee ... but it's actually quite good.

That's because it sticks honestly to the original A.A. Milne philosophy and intentions and is drawn as closely to the classic original as is possible.

We all have our favourite Pooh Corner characters - let's hear it for Eeyore! - and they're all here in a thoroughly charming film.

And, surprising for a Disney film, the songs, from Carly Simon, are quite excellent.

You came to sneer, didn't you? And you went away uplifted, didn't you?
