Brad Pitt insists outfit is not a toga

Brad Pitt insists that the outfit he wears in the Greek epic Troy, now shooting in Malta, is not a toga.

“It’s actually just a flat-out skirt and it’s quite comfortable,” he tells USA Today.

Pitt plays Achilles in the film, which is a throwback to the epics of old and has a cast that includes Peter O'Toole, Julie Christie, Sean Bean, Brendan Gleeson and Brian Cox.

“It’s the biggest thing I’ve ever been involved in,” said Pitt of the film, which is based on Homer’s Iliad and directed by Wolfgan Petersen.

“It’s something Chuck Heston ought to be walking around in, you know?”
