BB residents surprised by house-swap African
Big Brother sprung its big surprise today when newcomer Gaetano joined the housemates.
Gaetano, a contestant on African Big Brother, has traded places with Cameron in a twist to the reality show.
The housemates believed Cameron had spent the night in the reward room and at 9.10am Big Brother announced the room was open.
Gos and Steph went in to welcome the Orkney fish trader back to the house - and were stunned to find Gaetano there instead.
Gos greeted the new arrival by saying: “Good morning, sir, I’m Gos.”
Ray rushed into the girls’ bedroom to tell them and they all came out to meet their new housemate.
“I’d kiss you, but I’ve only just got up,” Nush said.
As the surprise started to sink in, she added: “I cannot compute this, another person – for a moment I forgot that there were other human beings in the world.”
The house was a tip after a boozing session last night and Ray mused: “Poor fella, what a day to come.”
Gaetano flew in from South Africa and entered the Big Brother house at 9am, spending ten minutes in the reward room before meeting the others.
The law student was impressed with the house, saying: “You guys have a serious pad over here. You have a nice pool.”
The Ugandan Romeo’s saucy antics have already spiced up the African version of the show, where viewers saw him getting intimate underneath a blanket with fellow contestant Abby.
And he looked disappointed to see the British show has separate bedrooms for the boys and girls.
“But you are adults,” he said as he looked over the rooms.
Gaetano, known as Gae (pronounced Guy), then announced: “First question, where do you take a serious dump?”
It was only when he returned from the bathroom that the housemates’ attention turned to Cameron’s whereabouts.
When Gaetano told them the pair had swapped places, Gos exclaimed: “My God, Cameron’s in South Africa!”
The swap will last for several days before the contestants return to their original shows.
Cameron, 32, will be exempt from evictions for two weeks, although he will be able to nominate the others for eviction.
Gae, who lives in Kampala, has a degree in politics and likes motorbikes, football and jazz.
He was chosen for the swap after passing a cocktail-making challenge, while Cameron was selected by chance after Big Brother asked for one housemate to come to the diary room to discuss the prospect of an individual challenge.
