Thousands of Harry Potter fans in Australia and New Zealand will be disappointed to learn a printing error means that two chapters are missing from some editions of the latest book.

About 10,000 of the 750,000 copies of Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix printed for the two countries are thought to be faulty. Andrew Hawkins of publishers Allen and Unwin apologised for the error.

The latest in the hit series by British author JK Rowling is breaking publishing records worldwide and bookshops around the world have scrambled to satisfy unprecedented demand from children and adults alike.
