Shoe man Choo given OBE

Shoe designer to the stars Jimmy Choo has been given an honorary OBE for his services to fashion.

Choo received the honour from British Trade and Industry Secretary Patricia Hewitt in a special ceremony held at Lancaster Gate in London.

The Malaysian-born designer is the favourite of celebrities and royals. His hand-crafted shoes cost upwards of £250 (€360) a pair. Nicole Kidman, Gwyneth Paltrow and Liz Hurley are all Jimmy Choo devotees, as was the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
