Become superheroes, BB tells housemates

The remaining nine starving Big Brother contestants were today embarking on a mission to avoid a fourth successive failure in the weekly task – as they become swashbuckling superheroes.

The blundering bunch were left with a shopping budget of just under €45 after Jon bungled last week’s bell-ringing challenge.

But they were supremely confident that they could reverse their miserable run of form, due largely to the antics of Scot Federico, and bet 85% of their weekly shopping budget for next week.

If they fail once more, they will be left with very little to spend on next week’s shop – for eight people.

Reading aloud the instructions of their latest task, Cameron, the softly-spoken elder statesman of the house, told his fellow contestants that they would have to create superhero alter egos.

“With a name, a costume, an arch enemy, a motto, a special power, a superhero pose and a theme tune,” he enthused.

The housemates were also asked to create a cut-out figure on to which to paint their Arch Enemy, before being instructed by Big Brother to position them around the house.

When a housemate hears their motto over the tannoy during the task, they will have three minutes to collect their costume and go to a specially installed red telephone box to get changed.

Once they are in full costume they must then move to an erected plinth before striking their superhero pose.

When the theme tune has finished the superhero must then “eradicate all villains” from the house by touching each housemates’ arch enemy.

Deciding not to learn the lessons of the last three weeks, the housemates had a brief discussion before betting the majority of their shopping budget.

Within minutes the Dynamic Duo – Ray and Federico – had launched themselves at the fabric and paint provided by Big Brother to help them design their costumes.

Ray immediately donned a blue cat-suit, yellow marigold gloves, blue pants and a silver mask, while the Scot squeezed himself into a crimson all-in-one.

But the costume drama was not to everyone’s liking as Tania, sporting a shiny vest top as Wonder Woman, complained: “It’s getting on my tits”.

Nush, meanwhile, was having problems choosing exactly what her superpower was going to be.

Gliding about the house in a spangly pink leotard-type garment, she cried: “If your dogs poop, I will scoop.”

Not only will they want to wipe out the deficit created by last week’s failed challenge but they are also in desperate need of toilet paper.

The group will only be allowed to fail one mission during the course of the task – otherwise they will have lost for a fourth consecutive week. The task will finish on Wednesday.
