Eminem's ex-wife arrested over 'cocaine' find

Rapper Eminem’s ex-wife could face drug charges after police found what appears to be cocaine in her car during a traffic stop, police said today.

Kimberly Anne Mathers was pulled over on the Interstate-94 highway on Tuesday morning, the St Clair Shores Police Department said in a statement.

She was accused of failing to change lanes to move away from an emergency vehicle which was parked on the hard shoulder, police said, and was arrested for driving with a revoked licence.

An officer then found the suspected cocaine in Mathers’s car and on her person, the statement said.

She was released pending further investigation. No formal charges have so far been filed.

Kimberly Mathers divorced the Grammy-winning rap star, whose legal name is Marshall Mathers III, in 2001. They were married in June 1999 and have a daughter together, Hailie Jade.

Eminem has rapped in his songs about killing his ex-wife. In ’97 Bonnie and Clyde, he talks about stuffing her body in a trunk.

In 2001, the 30-year-old rapper pleaded guilty to carrying a concealed weapon and was sentenced to two years probation after a confrontation with a man he believed he saw kissing Mathers outside a nightclub.

Later that year, Mathers was charged with drug possession after police reported finding a bag with a “white powdery substance” in the back of a patrol car where she had been questioned.
