All aboard the Con Express

Con Express kicks off with FBI agent Alex Brooks (Sean Patrick Flanery) being interviewed for a new assignment by two of his bosses.

The burning question on their minds is what went wrong with his previous case, which, by now, we’ve gathered wasn’t exactly a roaring success.

According to Brooks, it all started with a tip-off, and he goes on to explain how he and his team uncovered a terrorist plot, masterminded by Anton Simeonov (Arnold Vosloo), a Russian general, to steal barrels of Sarin gas to sell to the highest bidder.

Brooks, ably assisted by Russian agent Natalya (Ursula Karven), captures the demented general.

But, Anton escapes, causing a plane crash, and heads for the train transporting the deadly cargo.

The fairly predictable race is on.

Con Express is aptly named because a lot of the action clips are taken from the cutting room floors of Cliffhanger, Runaway Train, and Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot.

The plot has also been borrowed from a number offlicks and garbled together into a mishmash
