Charlotte Church spent €5,900 on 'emergency' dress

Teenage singer Charlotte Church has revealed she once splashed out more than €5,900 on a single dress.

The star, who is expected to get her hands on the millions she has made when she turns 18 next year, said it was an emergency purchase for a swanky show.

She admitted in an interview with the July edition of Q magazine that it was the most “ridiculous” thing she had ever bought.

“When I was in Las Vegas I needed dress for a show and so I bought a designer one for 7,000 dollars (€5,920),” said Church.

“I hate spending that much money, but we were running out of time so I had to get it.”

Church – last year’s Rear Of The Year – said she would not consider getting engaged until she was at least seven years older.

And she said suggestions that she was already planning to marry boyfriend Steve Johnson were the silliest rumours she had ever heard about herself.

“I’m not getting engaged until I’m at least 25,” she said.
