Grammer already ready for life after Frasier

Kelsey Grammer has a new role in store when Frasier finally comes to an end next year.

The actor, who has starred in the television series for ten years, is negotiating to play the controversial FBI director J Edgar Hoover in a musical based on his life.

He is also planning to team up with Carol Burneett for a television special in which they will send up a selection of musicals, he tells syndicated columnist Marilyn Beck.

“First we want to button things down for Frasier,” he said. “We want to show that he’s going to a better place and that he’s found room in his life for a relationship.”

Grammer and his wife Camille became parents of daughter Mason Olivia in 2001 and he said: “I’m going through seven stages of grief because Frasier is going to end, but what I’m most looking forward to is the life I can live with my new family.”
