Pointless UK Eurosong is released

The British Eurovision song which failed to score a single point in the Eurovision Song Contest was today released as a single.

Jemini were hoping that Cry Baby would prove more successful with the British public than it did among TV viewers across the rest of Europe on Saturday.

The Liverpudlian duo – Chris Cromby, 21, and Gemma Abbey, 20 – returned to the UK yesterday and played a concert at a pub in the heart of Birmingham’s gay village, where a Pride festival is taking place.

Speaking before last night’s concert at the Missing Pub in Hurst Street, which they played for free to help the venue raise money for the Alexander MacMillan charity and local HIV-Aids groups, Cromby said he hoped that there is no such thing as bad publicity and that coming last without a single point would boost their career.

“We are getting quite a lot of publicity and the single is out [today],” he said.

“We are confident that it will do well.”

Meanwhile Irish entry Mickey Joe Harte remains on top of the Irish charts after his performance at the weekend.
