Clay pigeons not just a shoot 'em up

Clay pigeons not just a shoot 'em up

Clay Bidwell (Joaquin Phoenix) is not having a good day. It starts off OK: he’s out drinking beer with his best friend and shooting the empties.

But Clay is sleeping with his best friend’s wife (Janeane Garofalo). By the end of the day his shooting buddy is dead, Clay’s the number one suspect and he starts learning a few valuable lessons about friendship, dangerous women and how to plan the perfect cover-up.

All that might sound bad enough, but Clay’s problems are only beginning. His best friend’s new widow wants him to take over where her dearly departed left off in the bedroom, and she doesn’t take his refusal too kindly. She’s not the kind of woman you mess with, as he soon finds out to his cost.

Clay’s new pool hall buddy Lester Long (Vince Vaughn) isn’t much of a help either. Clay just wants to get his life back to normal, but Lester is determined to have some deadly fun with the locals.

A little off the wall, Clay Pigeons has enough going on to keep you interested and the performance of Vince Vaughn suggests we may be seeing more of him in the future.
