Millions of American fans of butt-kicking beauty Buffy The Vampire Slayer saw the TV heroine stick her stiletto boots into her final villain last night – and save the world.

Evil was banished for good as the town of Sunnydale vanished into a huge crater bringing the series to an end after 144 episodes.
