Soul star Macy Gray is to help create a cartoon series about her childhood, it was reported today.

Soul star Macy Gray is to help create a cartoon series about her childhood, it was reported today.

The singer has signed a deal with Warner Bros Animation to develop the show entitled A Pretty Good Life, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

It will be based on her experiences growing up in Canton, Ohio, where she learned classic soul, R&B and pop music.

Gray will provide the voice of the lead character and compose original music for the soundtrack.
