Gothika filming continues without Berry

Filming of the supernatural thriller Gothika resumes this week although it is not clear when its star, Halle Berry, will return to the set.

Berry broke her right arm while filming “a physically demanding scene for a major plot point” last week, according to Warner Bros spokesman Joe Everett.

She is now wearing a plaster cast below the elbow and her husband, musician Eric Benet, has flown from Los Angeles to the film’s location in Montreal to be with her, according to news reports.

Berry plays a criminal psychologist who wakes up to find herself a patient in the asylum where she works, with no memory of the murder she is accused of committing.

The film also stars Penelope Cruz and Robert Downey Jr.

Halle Berry suffered an eye injury while shooting the James Bond film Die Another Day in Spain last year. She recently told the television show Extra that her Gothika role was “turning into something that’s really scary”.
