'The Truth About Charlie' is all lies

If you must re-make one of cinema's great classics - in this case the delicious Sharade, which was directed by Stanley Donen and starred the brilliant Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant - why make such a dismal hash of it?

If you must re-make one of cinema's great classics - in this case the delicious Sharade, which was directed by Stanley Donen and starred the brilliant Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant - why make such a dismal hash of it?

Demme appears to have completely lost his way as a director of innovation, none moreso than with this romantic comedy about the chase after loot. Let's face it, this cast ain't Hepburn or Grant, Demme isn't Donen.

The plotting is a disaster and the playing appears to have been sent in by post, it is neither romantic nor funny. It is an awful film disguised inadequately as glossy entertainment. Nope, it's not!
