Elvis Presley’s daughter Lisa Marie has gone where her father failed to venture by playing a concert in the UK.

The 35-year-old, who is launching a career as a singer, performed a show to an audience of just 200 people in London to kick-start her career.

Elvis only visited the UK once more than 40 years ago as he touched down at Prestwick airport, returning from his service in Germany and never played a show on British soil.

Lisa Marie, who releases her debut album next month, performed just six songs as she played with her band at the CC Club in central London.

Like her father she gave a characteristic curl of the lip as she performed her tracks from the album To Whom It May Concern.

But she kept her between-song banter to a barely audible minimum.

Among her guests in the audience were TV presenter Cat Deeley and funny man Frank Skinner.

Afterwards Skinner said: “I thought she was amazing. A bit like Avril Lavigne.”
