Garner takes over from Paltrow
Before she begins work on her super-heroine action film Elektra, Jennifer Garner will take over Gwyneth Paltrow's role in the comedy Happy Endings.
Paltrow dropped out of the project because she felt the need to take time off to grieve the loss of her father, Bruce Paltrow, who died in October while the actress was filming Ted and Sylvia, reports Daily Variety.
Garner, who co-starred with Ben Affleck in Daredevil and also stars in the television series Alias, will play a woman who is involved with both a father and his son.
Happy Endings also stars Lisa Kudrow of Friends, playing a woman who gave up a baby for adoption 19 years ago and meets a blackmailing filmmaker who knows where the child is.
