NBC looks for new Friends

With Friends about to finish its final season the search is on to find a programme to fill the void it will leave on American television.

Sources say that executives at the NBC network, which airs Friends, have been talking with Matt LeBlanc about the possibility of him starring in a spin-off series featuring his Friends character Joey.

In addition, hopes are reportedly high for a US version of the successful British comedy series Coupling, although the scripts will have to be toned down and the storylines less racy for American audiences.

LeBlanc is not talking about his future plans at the moment as he is currently taking a break from work.

He and his fiancée Melissa McKnight were married in a cliffside ceremony on the Hawaiian island of Kauai at the weekend.
