Eastenders Kat returns to Albert Square
EastEnders star Jessie Wallace told today how a two-month suspension from the show was “for the best”.
The actress, who plays Kat Slater, missed two months of filming on the BBC1 soap because of her off-screen behaviour.
Wallace, appearing on ITV1’s This Morning show, admitted: “Things went pear-shaped but I’m back now.
“It’s really nice to be back. Two months went really slow.”
The actress has been charged with a drink-drive offence and a trial date has been set for September.
She said today: “It takes a lot to get to grips with the fame thing - everything you do is scrutinised and blown out of proportion.
“People try to provoke me into being Kat when I go out.”
Wallace, 31, added: “It was a blow when the BBC suspended me but it was for the best. When I went back it wasn’t discussed but everyone was really friendly, really welcomed me back.”
