While Adam Sandler’s characters are often created from the same mould, the plot and characters here are far better here than in previous efforts. John Turturro’s performance as Mr Deed’s servant Emilio is hilarious, and his transformation to a comic role is surprisingly good. He’s been in a lot of films, but this is the first time he’s ever played a comedic character before.
