Veteran actor joins Coronation Street

Veteran actor Bernard Cribbins – best known for his role in The Railway Children and as the voice of The Wombles – is to join the cast of Coronation Street, it was announced today.

Cribbins will play charmer Wally Bannister, who replaces undertaker Archie in battleaxe Blanche Hunt’s affections.
