P Diddy in blues legend film negotiations

Sean Combs – the hip-hop figure also known as P Diddy – is in talks to star in a film biography of 1930s blues legend Robert Johnson.

To be called Love In Vain, the film is named after one of the songs recorded by Johnson in 1938 expected to start shooting in September in Mississippi where Johnson grew up.

Combs, who will also be a producer on the project, earned good reviews for his portrayal of a condemned inmate in Monster’s Ball, opposite Halle Berry.
