Zeta-Jones announces new film
Fresh from her High Court victory over Hello! magazine, Catherine Zeta-Jones has announced she is developing a film based on the stage play Getting And Spending.
The co-producer will be her brother David, who runs her production company Milkwood, reports Daily Variety.
The romantic comedy is about a woman who makes her money playing the stock market and then gives it away to charity. When she is accused of insider trading, she sets out to hire a top lawyer who has just retied to a monastery.
“We are confident the stage play will be the foundation of a wonderfully clever romantic comedy which will provide a perfect role for Catherine Zeta-Jones,” said Francois Ivernel, managing director of Pathe UK, the Lottery-backed production franchise which is jointly producing the film with Milkwood and U.S.-based Starboard Entertainment.
