Now here we have a classy, thoughtful and compelling thriller, directed with style by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.

It quite restores one's faith in the moviemaking art.

The story concerns a collection of fascinating characters whose survival of various disasters colours their attitude to such things as beating the odds.

To each of these characters the sterling cast brings individuality and mystery.

The story is played out at a strong and gripping pace and is full of moments of surprise and interest.

It is, in short, a gem of a movie which shows what can be achieved when those involved care about the intelligence of their audience.
