Travolta wants musical role

John Travolta, who admits he turned down the role of Billy Flynn in the Oscar-winning musical Chicago three times in the film’s infant stages because he felt the script “lacked direction,” is now ready to sing and dance.

“I’d like to do An American In Paris or Guys And Dolls,” he tells Us magazine. “I’d like to put a spin on something like Chicago.”

But he denies rumours that he is ready to return as Danny Zuko in a sequel to the 1978 favourite Grease.

“You’d have to be pretty clever to come up with something that part of me feels should be left well alone,” he says.
