Tony Blackburn is set to return to a national breakfast show slot on radio for the first time in 30 years.

He is to front a show on the Classic Gold Digital station with co-host Laura Pittson from Monday.

The one-time Radio 1 presenter - who found a new lease of fame after winning ITV1's I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! - has not had a weekday breakfast show since 1973.

"At least my jokes haven't changed. It's a dream come true to be back at breakfast; I honestly don't know how listeners have coped without me," he quipped.

The station can be heard in many UK cities on medium wave and is also on digital radio and via sky digital TV across the country.
