Young singers go for Eurovision glory
Eurovision Song Contest bosses are launching a children’s version of the competition.
Budding singers between the ages of eight and 15 from across Europe will be eligible to enter.
ITV are to stage Song For Europe-style heats to pick a British entry around September, said a spokeswoman for programme makers Carlton.
They will then broadcast the final from Copenhagen in November.
Ronan Keating is reportedly being lined up as a possible host for the event.
The final will be six months after the Eurovision Song Contest, which is being held in Latvia on May 24.
British hopefuls Jemini are up against lesbian pop duo tATu, who are this year’s Russian entry.
