Beckham to front new Vodafone campaign

Manchester United star David Beckham stars in a new TV advert for mobile phone giant Vodafone starting today.

In the commercial, the Manchester United star is showing players a game on his handset while waiting in an airport lounge.

After fans approach him for an autograph he signs a drinks mat – only for a waitress to put a glass on it.

Beckham has signed a lucrative deal with the company to promote its Vodafone live! service.

Lance Batchelor, managing director of Vodafone UK, said: “David is more than just a footballer, he is a style icon with universal appeal.

“This is his second advertisement for us. The first was so successful that customers now come into our stores and ask for ‘the Beckham Phone’.”

The new advert is due to run from today until May.
