Gareth and the Kumars storm to UK number one

Pop star Gareth Gates’ charity single in aid of Comic Relief stormed into the Top 40 at number one tonight.

The hit single, Spirit in the Sky, which features television characters the Kumars, knocked American singer Christina Aguilera’s song Beautiful off the top spot.

Six of this week’s top 10 are new entries, including All I have, by Jennifer Lopez, featuring LL Cool J, which entered the charts at number two.

Shania Twain’s latest single, Ka-Ching, came in at number eight.

Award-winning singer Norah Jones held on to the top of the album charts for another week with Come Away with Me.
