Ex-Police star sues ex-Doors stars
Stewart Copeland, former drummer for The Police, is suing two members of Doors 21st Century for one million dollars, claiming they backed out of a promise to include him on an forthcoming tour and album.
Both keyboard player Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger were original members of the 1960s rock band The Doors.
They declined to comment.
Copeland, 50, had performed as recently as January with the defendants, but was replaced last month in The Doors 21st Century, his lawsuit claims.
He has accused Manzarek and Krieger of âexploiting his credibility, talent and reputationâ.
Last month, original Doors drummer John Densmore also sued Manzarek and Krieger for going on tour without him.
The lead singer in the original band, Jim Morrison, died in 1971.
