Farrell does star turn at premiere

Ireland’s latest film heart-throb, Colin Farrell, was the star turn at the premiere in Dublin tonight of the new thriller The Recruit.

Farrell, once a supporting actor in Ballykissangel, was at Dublin's Screen cinema for the show.

The movie is one of the main attractions at the inaugural Jameson Dublin International Film Festival, which opened for a week of screenings of 66 films from 30 countries last Thursday.

The Recruit, which also stars Al Pacino, is about a CIA trainee who is asked to track down a mole within the agency.

Among the audience at tonight’s premiere were Irish film director Neil Jordan and Larry Mullen, of U2.
