Former London’s Burning star John Alford is making his TV comeback as a cocaine dealer – four years after he was jailed for the same offence.

Alford plays a dodgy air steward in Sky One’s Mile High, which follows the lives and loves of an airline cabin crew.

His character Dean tries to smuggle £2,000-worth of cocaine through Customs by planting it in a female colleague’s washbag.

Alford, 29, was jailed for nine months in 1999 after being convicted of supplying cocaine and cannabis to a newspaper reporter posing as an Arab sheikh.

The baby-faced actor was sacked by London’s Burning bosses and struggled to find work after his release from prison – at one point taking a job as a scaffolder’s mate.

His one-off appearance in Mile High this Sunday night is his first major TV role since he was jailed.
