Evans' television return flops
Chris Evans’s return to Saturday night prime-time TV drew little over one million viewers, figures showed today.
The funnyman was the brains behind new show Boys And Girls for Channel 4 which debuted at the weekend and he even made a cameo appearance.
But it was a turn-off for viewers with just 1.1 million bothering to watch - beaten by all other terrestrial channels.
Channel Five’s CSI Miami landed an audience which was 600,000 higher, as did BBC2’s Taken, which were screened at the same time.
Boys And Girls pulled in just 5% of the available audience, while Channel 4 would normally expect to pull in an average of 10% for its shows.
A spokeswoman for Channel 4 said today:”It was a great show. It was the first outing and these things take time.
“You can’t judge on just one show.”
The show has not been a resounding success with critics either.
