Reeve returns to Superman roots
Christopher Reeve, who starred in four Superman films, has made a guest appearance on Smallville, the television series which stars Tom Welling as the young Superman.
Reeve, who has been confined to a wheelchair since a 1995 horse riding accident, played a reclusive billionaire who holds the key to connecting Clark Kent with his Kryptonian past.
He reportedly agreed to the guest role in exchange for airing a short film clip about his paralysis resource centre at the end of the episode.
His appearance marked a reunion with Annette O'Toole, who co-starred with Reeve playing Lana Lang in Superman III and who now portrays Clark Kent’s mother in the series.
