Streep to wear peace pin at Oscars

Meryl Streep will be one of what anti-war activists hope will be many Oscar nominees wearing a specially designed peace pin at the Academy Awards ceremonies next month.

Inspired by Pablo Picasso’s Dove of Peace, the pin is the brainchild of a group called Global Vision for Peace which was formed to send a message to the Oscars’ global television audience.

Streep has been nominated for the 12th time – more than any other actress - for her role as writer Susan Orlean in Adaptation.
