Muddy memoirs net Goldie more than $3m

Goldie Hawn is finding writing to be a more profitable career than acting.

The bubbly blonde actress, who was nominated for a Golden Globe award for her performance in The Banger Sisters, has just sold her autobiography to the publishers GP Putnam for nearly $3.2m (€2.97m).

She describes the memoir, called A Lotus Grows In The Mud: Footprints Of A Spiritual Life, as a spiritual book focusing on her “journey toward fulfillment” and dealing with her childhood, career in Hollywood, marriages and children.

In addition, she has completed a screenplay, “Ashes”, which is close to production.

“It’s about how we make choices in our lives,” Hawn told the film industry newspaper Daily Variety. “It will be told in a comedic but meaningful way.”

Both projects, she said, will chronicle the quest for joy.
