Westlife 'not splitting'

Boyband Westlife have reassured fans that they have no intention of splitting up.

Band member Shane Filan was reported to have threatened to quit following a row over the sacking of their tour manager.

But today the boys issued a categorical denial and Shane said they were definitely not about to go their separate ways.

“Westlife are definitely not splitting up,” he said in a statement.

“We’re looking forward to starting rehearsals for the tour and we’ll be recording a brand new album this summer, so everything is fantastic.”

Westlife’s new single, Tonight, is released on March 17 – St Patrick’s Day - and their Unbreakable World Tour kicks off in Cardiff the following month.
