Damon and Williams in Grimm tale

Matt Damon and Robin Williams are being lined up to star together in a fairytale adventure based on stories by the Brothers Grimm.

Former Monty Python Terry Gilliam will direct the film that follows the German folklore collectors as they tour small villages pretending to protect townsfolk from enchanted creatures.

The duo ultimately find themselves up against a real magic curse requiring genuine courage.

Damon and former Home and Away actor Heath Ledger are in talks to play Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm in the movie written by Lord of the Rings scriptwriter Ehren Kruger.

Williams is cast as the villainous Cavaldi with Welsh actor Jonathan Pryce as his sidekick, Delatombe.
