Michael Barrymore says more should be done to combat alcoholism.

The 50-year-old TV star has been explaining why he has set up a branch of Alcoholics Anonymous in his local village hall.

He has been running the support meetings, attended by up to 30 people, every Saturday at the hall near his home in Roydon, near Harlow, Essex, for a month.

Barrymore has been attending AA meetings for the last 20 months.
