Love and Branson patch up differences

Singer Courtney Love’s friendship with Richard Branson took off last night as the pair patched things up over her behaviour on one of the Virgin Atlantic boss’s flights.

The two met at a post-show party for a glitzy fundraising concert which bizarrely saw Love performing while dressed as Donald Duck – then stripping to her underwear for an audience which included the Duke Of York.

Branson and Love spent half an hour in conversation at the party in east London.

The controversial singer, widow of rock idol Kurt Cobain, was arrested after she was accused of abusive behaviour during her Virgin flight to the UK.

She was later released with a police caution over the incident After she chatted with the tycoon, Love said: “We’ve sorted it all out now.

“He’s given me four free first-class flights on Virgin.”

She said they also discussed “real estate” during their chat. Love is planning to move to London for a while to do some work on a new album, although she is currently without a record deal, and she wanted some property advice.

Love chatted to Bill Clinton’s daughter Chelsea, broadcaster Janet Street Porter and artist Sam Taylor Wood, who had been guests at the concert, for which tickets cost up to £1,000 (€1,521).

The show was organised by Hollywood star Kevin Spacey and Elton John to raise cash for the Old Vic Theatre, where the event took place.
