Suzi fed up with being butt of jokes

Treasure Hunt presenter Suzi Perry said today she is tired of her bottom being a topic of conversation.

Last year the 32-year-old stepped into the shoes of the former jumpsuit-clad presenter of the legendary 80s Channel 4 show, Anneka Rice.

Inevitably Suzi, who started off her TV career as a motorcycle racing commentator on Sky, has found her backside becoming, quite literally, the butt of many jokes.

“I can’t do anything about the shape of my bottom, take it or leave it,” the former model told S, the Sunday Express magazine. “But we filmed the show chasing clues rather than my bottom.”

Although proclaiming herself to be excited at following in the footsteps of the Ms Rice, Suzi said the style of Treasure Hunt is now very different.

“Anneka used to wear skintight clothes and I don’t,” she observes. “She wore a jumpsuit at the time because they were very 80s and she made them even more popular – but I’ve got an Avengers-style leather catsuit.”

Treasure Hunt has moved from Channel 4 to the BBC2 and returns next week with its more upmarket, intelligent feel.

Suzi proudly claims the show is now “fun”, “looks good”, but “challenges the brain” as well.
