James Bond is to slug it out with spoof Austin Powers as they battle for the accolade of cinemagoers’ favourite film of the past year.

James Bond is to slug it out with spoof Austin Powers as they battle for the accolade of cinemagoers’ favourite film of the past year.

They are on the shortlist announced today for the Orange Film Of The Year Award to be handed over at the British Academy Film Awards next month.

Other films vying for the prize will be blockbusters The Two Towers, Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets and Spider-Man.

The shortlist of 10 movies is made up of top box office draws and movie buffs will be able to choose their top movie for the award on February 23 at the UK equivalent of the Oscars.

Bond is nominated for Die Another Day while comic spy Powers is up for Goldmember.

The 10 nominated films are:
