Bee Gee Gibb remains in critical condition

Bee Gees singer Maurice Gibb remained in a critical but stable condition tonight with his family at his bedside as he recovered from a heart attack.

The 53-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest during an operation to remove an intestinal blockage after he collapsed at his Florida home.

His wife, Yvonne, and his two children were with him at the Mount Sinai Medical Centre in Miami where he has remained since the surgery on Thursday night.

He has opened his eyes for a brief time and squeezed his daughter’s hand.
