Ferris Bueller actor denies child porn charges

The American actor who played the bumbling headmaster in the 1980s film comedy Ferris Bueller’s Day Off has been charged with child porn offences.

Jeffrey Jones, who also appeared in The Hunt for Red October and Sleepy Hollow, allegedly hired a 14-year-old boy to pose for sexually explicit pictures.

The 56-year-old actor pleaded not guilty when he appeared in a Los Angeles court yesterday.

Jones has said he wants “the truth to come out” about the criminal charges.

“From the beginning, I have co-operated with the police department and the district attorney’s office,” he said.

Jones, who remains free on €20,000 bail, faces a three year prison sentence if convicted and would have to register as a sex offender.

He was arrested in November after a 12 month child porn investigation that also resulted in the arrest of actor Paul Reubens, 50, who is best known as the character Pee-wee Herman.

Reubens, who is also free on bail, faces a fine and up to a year in prison if convicted. Reubens’ lawyer has said the actor did not knowingly possess anything illegal.
