Harrison Ford escapes car accident on film set

Harrison Ford has survived a high speed car smash after a stunt for his latest movie Hollywood Homicide went wrong and hit a wall.

The 60-year-old was riding in a car driven by co-star Josh Hartnett when the vehicle went out of control during a chase scene and hit a wall.

Both actors escaped serious injury in the wreck.

The accident occurred while Harrison and Josh, playing Los Angeles Police Department detectives, were pursuing a homicidal rap-music boss in a chase sequence.

A source on the set told The National Enquirer: "This was a stunt that should have been done by professional stunt men. But Harrison insists on doing all of his stunts, so his co-star Josh didn't want to be left out."

"Josh he got confused and instead of driving down a street, he drove right into a wall. Everybody freaked! People ran over to the car to get them out.

"Harrison remained calm and got out himself, but Josh was a bit more shaken up in the incident. Between the two of them they suffered only a bump on the head, some pulled muscles, and a back strain. It could have been so much worse."

Harrison's manager Patricia McQueeney confirmed the accident but said: "He was not hurt - he's doing well."
