Kylie tops visitors poll at Madame Tussaud's

Kylie Minogue has been named both favourite pop star and most beautiful woman by visitors to Madame Tussaud's.

Kylie emerged victorious over Robbie Williams and Gareth Gates in the annual survey.

And her victory in the most beautiful woman category saw her beat Halle Berry into second place and Jennifer Lopez into third, reports the London Standard.

David Beckham was voted most handsome man and favourite sports personality for the second year running.

Television presenter John Leslie was named most scandalous person of the year and was beaten in the most hated person of the year category only by Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden.

Angus Deayton was second most scandalous person of the year while Edwina Currie and John Major are joint third.

In the world of politics, Winston Churchill's victory in the BBC's Great Britons survey is repeated in the Tussaud poll, with him being named favourite politician.

Last year's winner, Tony Blair, only makes third place. Ahead of Mr Blair in second place is Chancellor Gordon Brown.
