Barrymore calls for another inquest
Michael Barrymore has called for a second inquest into the death of a partygoer found floating in his swimming pool.
The former Strike It Lucky and My Kind Of Music host is hoping unheard medical evidence could be used to explain the death of Stuart Lubbock.
Lawyers for the entertainer have obtained a new witness statement from a nurse who performed rectal thermometer checks on Mr Lubbock after he was taken to hospital, The Observer reported.
The 31-year-old butcher was found in Barrymore's pool at his luxury home in Roydon, near Harlow, in March last year.
An open verdict was recorded at the inquest, which heard that Mr Lubbock suffered internal injuries which suggested that he might also have been the victim of a serious sexual assault before his death.
Barrymore, who was recently told he will not face perjury charges following after reports that he allegedly lied at the inquest, argues that the injuries occurred after Mr Lubbock's body left his home.
