Yoko Ono "won't sue over McCartney"

Yoko Ono will not be suing Paul McCartney for axing the famous 'Lennon-McCartney' songwriting credit.

It had been claimed she was angry that McCartney has replaced the tag on 19 Beatles tracks on his new US album.

Instead, credits on the live LP read "Paul McCartney and John Lennon".

Ono's lawyer Peter Shukat told BBC News: "I don't think anybody ever said Yoko was going to sue Paul."

McCartney's spokesperson Geoff Baker also dismissed reports of possible legal action. "Have we had any legal letters? Absolutely not, it's not true. I don't know whether she is happy about it or not, but there can't be any legal action."
